IITB is the first name in the top 10 universities in India and is ranked at number nine in the QS BRICS University Ranking list. IITB was founded in 1958 and is also included among top 100 global universities for Computer Science, chemical engineering, civil engineering, and likes.
Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISC)
The second name in the list is Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (IISC) and is ranked number 10 in the QS BRICS University Ranking list. IISC was established in the year 1909 and is listed among the top 100 global universities for chemical engineering, electrical engineering, and material science.
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD)
IITD is the third in the list and ranked 17th in BRICS Ranking list and is 172nd in the world. The institute was inaugurated in the year 1961 and has 11 interdisciplinary centers. IITD is in top 100 list for mechanical, chemical, civil, electrical engineering and computer science subjects.
Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM)
The fourth University in the top 10 universities in India 2018 list is IIT Madras. The institute is at 18th place in BRICS Ranking list and 264th in the world ranking list.IITM came into existence in the year 1959 and is located near Guindy National Park, Chennai. It is also ranked among top 100 global universities for its expertise in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and material science.
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IITK)
The fifth position in 2018 ranking list is owned by IIT Kanpur and is ranked 21st in the BRICS 2018 list. IITK holds 293rd rank in world ranking list and is listed amongst top 150 international universities for mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, and material science. In the year 1959, IITK was established in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP)
IIT was founded in the year 1951 in Kharagpur and is ranked sixth in the list of top Indian universities and 24th in BRICS list. IIT Kharagpur is also ranked among top 50 globally acclaimed universities for their contribution in mineral and mining engineering.
University of Delhi
The seventh position is fixed for University of Delhi which is ranked 41st in BRICS ranking and is among top 500 in world ranking. The University of Delhi is known worldwide for its two important subjects viz. Development studies and Anthropology.
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR)
University of Roorkee was transformed into IITR in the year 2001 and is the first institute of India to offer Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering. IITR is 8th in the list and ranked among top 150 global institutes for civil engineering.
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IITG)
IIT Guwahati was established in the year 1994 and is the sixth IIT. IITG is ranked ninth in 2018 list and 52nd in BRICS ranking list. Globally, IITG is listed among top 200 universities for its expertise in Mechanical Engineering.
University of Calcutta
The last name in the list is University of Calcutta which was founded in the year 1857. The University is ranked 64th in the BRICS raking list and listed among 250-500 global universities for its three main subjects viz. Modern Language, Chemistry, and Physics & Astronomy.
